Vactions Expo 2016 travel fair opened today at the National Art Gallery. Minister of Economic Development, Mohamed Saeed opened the exhibition which began as the first ever such event in the country.
The trade show brought together leading travel companies, hoteliers, airlines, tour operators, travel agents, online travel companies, liveaboards, cruises, dive operators and other travel marketers under one roof including Maldives Marketing & PR Corporation, Singapore Tourism Board and Visit Malaysia. Exhibitors are displaying various attractive travel packages and services.
People are keen to explore and share what travel agents and hoteliers has to offer for holidays. “Most of the time I have act as my own travel when I need to go for a vacation. From here I can talk with the travel experts from the leading travel agents and airlines to explore the best deals for the destination. This is a great idea and I hope see more such exhibitions” said Shiya Rasheed who was visiting the exhibition.
“This may be a beggining but it’s a great opportunity for the industry. This gives us the opportunity to promote our inbound and outbound holiday package. We can definitely get more exposure” said Mohamed Mirsha, the Managing Travel Connection Maldives, a leading travel agent from Maldives.
Some of the highlights of the event include lucky draws with free holiday packages, cruise packages and flight tickets. Inner Maldives Holidays along with Ace Aviation is offering special discounts up to 30% on SriLankan airlines.
The exhibition is organised Highrise, who is among the leading event managers in Maldives who have successfully delivered Maldives Travel Awards , Maldives Film Awards, Maldives Living Expo, Sounds of Maldives. While some events of Highrise has been delivered in Colombo, Kerala, Bangalore, Malaysia and in Dubai.
The exhibition is open until 6th August at The National Art Gallery.
